I don’t know about what anybody else wants from their Friday or Saturday night but the usual going to the pub and then to a club in Cornwall gets tedious when it is done every single weekend. You often see the same faces appearing and it seems like a sketch from “Groundhog Day” as nothing changes. Change is good and it means that life is different and becomes more interesting. Obviously, mingling at social occasions is very important for many of us and I recently went to a different type of social function especially on the sunny Cornwall coastline as many youngsters are heading to these shores every summer and I’m seeing these types of functions appear even more regularly. A friend of mine, who is the wrong side of thirty, said that he too had attended a function as well. Hog roast catering is not normally a typical occasion experienced by people of any age but on that one particular night in Mousehole I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Hog roast catering is very much like you’ve seen in the movies with tasty slices of hog served with apple sauce in a brown bap. I even had another slice although not hog but beef. When I looked around me, there were several stalls serving all these types of meat which had smiling, happy people chomping down on their chosen food. I even noticed that other food was on offer as well which included salad and nibbles, such as nuts, and this wetted the appetite for more. I went to this function, which was a friend’s 30^th birthday party, and with all of the people who were there (such as my other friends and relatives of her partner) there were no smirks and everyone was all smiles. It went by with such a success that the rest of the night was a bit of a blur as the alcoholic refreshments rapidly disappeared.  And, only a few days later, I went to a food festival in Boscastle with my boyfriend and, lo and behold, there stood a hog roast stand and I couldn’t resist from having another hog roast roll which, I’m glad to say, was just as good as what I had before. So, if you’re looking for a great form of food which tastes different from all the rest, then I really do recommend hog roast food especially if you’re in Cornwall.
